Discover & Experience Den Helder

Den Helder is located at the top of the “Kop van North-Holland”. Almost 60000 people live in the city. Den Helder is surrounded by water on the north-, west- and eastside. Den Helder is famous for the Navy and the Navy Days, visited by tens of thousands of people. In the city centre are lots of shops and an indoor shopping mall. The different kinds of restaurants and pavement cafes guarantee a lovely visit.

The beaches in Den Helder are worth a visit during good weather. During bad weather Den Helder offers lots of different things to do. Fort Kijkduin, a sealife aquarium with North Sea fishes in an old fort of Napoleons time is worth a visit. The Naval Museum with an old submarine and other old ships is very interesting and the Lifeboat museum attract lots of visitors. 

Greenhouse the Oranjerie with a Japanese garden, cinema Utopolis, a theatre the Kampanje and indoor playground Ballorig are also worth a visit.

Daytrips to the island of Texel and Wieringen and the city of Schagen can be made from Den Helder.
